ANOTHER FIRST - VETSCAN OPENS IN HUNGARY

In Hungary, Affidea (known locally as Diagnoscan) has opened the country’s first ever diagnostic centre dedicated entirely to animals! The centre, known as VetScan, has a powerful 1.5T MRI machine geared specifically towards the scanning of smaller animals. This novel innovation will provide unique, professional diagnostic services for animals, with a team of veterinary professionals on hand to ensure the safety and comfort of the furriest member of the family.

The Vetscan opening ceremony was attended by Diagnoscan Country Manager and Managing Director of Vetscan Mr György Leitner, Dr Zoltán Kerekes, veterinary expert and Medical Director of the new centre and hosted by popular journalist and TV presenter Kriszta D. Tóth.

„It is important that the most up-to-date diagnostic examinations are also made available to animals, as this could save their lives,” said Ms Tóth, proud owner of a whopping 85 kilo Great Dane named Ringo.

The new centre has its own website, www.vetscan.hu with advice and information for pet owners and vets alike. Whilst consultations are already available, the scanning itself is due to start in January 2016, once the licences have been finalised.

VetScan Scanning Areas

All scans require general anaesthetic, as animals must lie completely still for the duration of the scan, which may take up to 15 minutes.
